Poda Podi Join this Diwali

Poda Podi has finally emerged successfully out of the censors with the officials awarding it a clean U certificate. It is therefore clear that this flick is a complete family entertainer from Simbu. With the formalities at the censors completed yesterday, Poda Podi has joined the list of Diwali releases much to the satisfaction of Simbu and his fans.

The star was set on having this film released on Diwali and has finally done it. Poda Podi will now be clashing with Vijay Thuppaki and other films lined up for Diwali release!

 Podaa Podi with Simbu and Varalaxmi in the lead has been given a U certificate by the Censor Board. Now as expected, the film will be released for Deepavali. The film is a family story set in the backdrop of dance. The film’s songs composed by Dharan are already a big hit with Love Pannalama  Venama topping the charts. The film is directed by debutant Vignesh Siva. The film has Shobana and VTV Ganesh in character roles.

STR, a die-hard fan of Ajith, is apparently going his favourite star's way. The 'Thala' usually maintains silence  before the release of his movies, and will allow his flicks to do the talking.

Now Simbu is following the same as far as his Deepavali release 'Poda Podi' is concerned. The actor, we learn, has told circles close to him that he would not speak anything about the film before it hit the screens.

"STR is confident that Poda Podi will sure strike a chord with the audience. He will spill the beans only after the film's release," sources say.

Directed by debutant Vignesh Shiva, 'Poda Podi' will mark the acting debut of Varalakshmi Sarathkumar. Dharan has composed the music.

Podaa Podi, directed by debutant Vignesh Shivan had been in the making for a very long time. The team very recently wrapped up their shoot in Mumbai and announced that the film would be a Diwali release. Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is making her debut as a heroine and Shobana, Ganesh, Meena Latchman and Nick Thomas-Webster are playing supporting roles. Samarth, Simbu’s nephew is also playing a character in the film. Santhanam and Premji will also be seen in guest roles in the film. The film is expected to be a romantic-musical, with Varalaxmi playing a Salsa dancer. The songs composed by Dharan for the film are already topping the charts. A major portion of the film was shot in London, with Duncan Telford behind the lens. Anthony has edited the film and Gemini Film Circuit holds the distribution rights. Source :Behindwoods
