Andrea in Vada Chennai

The singer-actress has landed a role in Vetri Maaran's new film

Andrea has bagged another plum offer. After reportedly being roped in by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan for his Viswaroopam, the actress will now be seen in director Vetri Maaran's next, Vada Chennai.

While it isn't clear if she will be paired opposite Simbu in the flick, we hear that the girl has an excellent role in it. We had earlier reported that the National Award-winning director is looking to cast Amala paul and Tollywood actor Ram in the film, but now, he has confirmed that it's Andrea and Rana, who is a known face in Tollywood, who will be part of the project.

He says, "Andrea and Rana have been confirmed to be part of the film. Andrea will be doing a very important role in my film, and the character will bring out the best in her. There's another female lead in the flick, and we are currently scouting for an actress to portray the character. In all probability, it will be a newcomer."

While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalized, we believe that the film is likely to go on floors by February.

Vettai Mannan in full swing

Silambarasan seems to be literally hyper-active shooting simultaneously for various projects. Wrapping up with ‘Osthe’ within short span of time, the actor is now back in momentum with ‘Vettai Mannan’. Touted to be a humour-action thriller revolving on the assassins, the film is directed by debutant Nelson.

Produced by SS Chakravarthy of Nic Arts, the first schedule was completed in Chennai following which Simbhu became busy with ‘Osthe’. Now as the actor is done with the project, he will start shooting for Vettai Mannan by next week. The project will go on at a full-stretch of 60 days schedule.

Simbu's lucky destination

Guess who was on vacation recently? Actor Simbu, who has wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming film Osthe, was reportedly on a break to his lucky destination, Macau.
I needed this break desperately, the actor was quoted telling certain sections of the media. It was not a planned holiday, but I just took off when things got hectic here. It was a well deserved break, he added.
It looks like Macau is a lucky destination for the VTVactor. Simbu reportedly went on a holiday to Macau after wrapping up the shooting for the Gautham Menon directed Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya.
Little superstar aka STR is now looking forward to the release of Osthe, which is set to release on December 8.

Rana and Andrea in STR film

Vetri Maaran's next film will have STR in the lead and is generating considerable excitement in industry circles. The film may be called Vada Chennai. Rana Daggubati, the Telugu sensation who recently made waves in Bollywood with Dum Maaro Dum is making his first foray into Tamil cinema with this film. Word is he has a meaty role in this film.
Andrea has also been roped in for an important part in this film. Vetri Maaran is unwilling to reveal too many details about this film as he is still hunting for a heroine and other cast members. Once these details are finalized there will be an official announcement. The film is going to roll in February, 2012

We salute Citizen Ajith- gentleman

Ajith has no starry airs about him.

He is undoubtedly among the top five stars in Kollywood and can afford to throw his weight around.

Still the guy is humble and behaves like an ordinary man.

Early Monday (Nov 21) morning, the star was off to Eastern Europe for the third schedule of his Chakri Toleti directed Billa 2. He was in Chennai airport to take a connecting flight via Dubai.

Ajith after checking in his baggage at the airline counter went for the security check-up and joined the mile long queue. The airport officials on seeing Thala went up to him and offered to take him straight to the security hold.

Ajith, smiled and politely refused to jump the line and waited for nearly 30 minutes along with other passengers. Please note lessor known stars and politicians with their clout with the airport police would have walked through security and boarded the flight.

Remember that Ajith never jumps the line and prefers to stand behind serpentine queues to cast his vote, unlike other stars. Thala is truly a role model as a gentleman citizen, and has constantly refused to cash in on his stardom.
